The Challenge
If there’s one thing ubiquitous about Chinese New Year, it’s the Ang Bao – the red packet. It’s not only eagerly anticipated by everyone, it’s also the most talked about due to its importance. Steeped in tradition, it has rarely changed in shape or colour, and only barely in design.
The Idea
With sustainability taking precedence in every part of our lives, 2022 offered BMW the opportunity to lead the charge through BMW i Vision Circular. This is a fascinating vision vehicle based on the application of their circular design principles: Re:Think, Re:Duce, Re:Use and Re:Cycle.
The Sustainable Ang Bao
Since BMW i Vision Circular is conceived in line with the four principles of a circular economy, the entire process of design, development and manufacture of these red packets draws on those values.
